frog's yard [/size]
home of stewart and katherine ackerly, along with their four children. like most of the homes around ottery st. catchpole, it was built among hills and meadows, and has the appearance of a quaint little farmhouse with a path winding lazily up to the gate. a sign with 'frog's yard' painted on it in neat handwriting and six differently-colored hand prints, each one from a different member of the family, marks the front yard. this is where katherine has a wide assortment of various plants, both magical and ordinary, lining the perimeter of the house. a large, frog-infested pond dominates most of the west side of the land, and when the children are home, a pair of tomcats are sometimes seen crouched on the bank or sunbathing on the steps leading up to the front door.
